Combat plays a huge part in Arcane Saga since the gameplay largely consists of fighting a series of battles one after another.

The combat system is essentially turn-based which means that every character on the battlefield takes its turn. This includes both the player’s and the enemy characters.
The player draws out cards which are based on the type of hero that they are using and during every turn, the player can combine cards once and use an ability once. Players can also cast spells during each turn provided that they have enough mana to do so.
Each time you combine two cards of the same type, you gain a new card of a higher level. Players can combine two Level 1 cards into a Level 2 card, and two Level 2 cards into a Level 3 card. The more powerful the card is, the stronger will be the ability cast with it.
This means that your average turn should consist of you combining two cards, using a card to attack one of the chosen enemies or to cast an ability, and perhaps casting a spell if you have enough mana for it.

Silver – This is the most common currency of the game that can be obtained by simply playing the game. Silver can be used to level up heroes and purchase equipment upgrades.
Moon Stone – This type of currency is a rare ore found in the continent of Ortegia. Moon Stones can be exchanged for Silver.
Hero EXP Potions – This type of currency is required for your Heroes to level up and increase their stats. Players can use this currency at the hero information screen.
Crystal – This is a very rare and valuable type of currency that can be found within the continent of Ortegia. Crystals can be used to purchase items at the Trading Market.
Wing – A type of currency used for starting Outland Expeditions.
Summon Ticket – A type of currency used for summons. Summon Tickets can differ in rarity.
Upgrade Stone – This type of currency is used for enhancing hero equipment.
Level Ticket – This currency is used to raise the hero’s level by one.
Hero Pieces – Hero Pieces are a type of currency that can be used to unlock specific heroes directly without having to put your faith in luck.
However, a large number of Hero Pieces unique to a single hero are required to unlock that specific hero. This makes Hero Pieces a very rare and valuable resource.
Arcane Saga – Union Advantage
Arcane Saga features its own Alliance system which is also known as Union Advantage.
The way the system works is that each unit or hero comes with their own assigned Alliance that deals increased damage against one of the other two alliances while at the same time taking increased damage from the other.
Vita – Takes increased damage from Ordo and deals increased damage against Abyssus.
Ordo – Takes increased damage from Abyssus and deals increased damage against Vita.
Abyssus – Takes increased damage from Vita and deals increased damage against Ordo.

Hero Altar essentially serves as the Arcane Saga’s gacha mechanic and allows players to summon new heroes in exchange for Summon Tickets. The rarity and quality of the heroes summoned will depend on the rarity of the Summon Ticket.
In addition to summoning, the Hero Altar can also be used to exchange heroes that you already have for new ones, as well as to reset your heroes which will strip them from their upgrades and refund the player with the Hero Pieces that they already used.

In addition, each hero also comes with three different active abilities. Each of these abilities is stronger than the previous one, however, in order to use them, the player will need to combine cards of the same type. This means that you won’t always have access to your strongest abilities and as a result, you will need to strategize around them.
Level 1 Ability – Requires a single Level 1 card to use.
Level 2 Ability – Requires the player to combine two of the same Level 1 cards in order to be used.
Level 3 Ability – Requires the player to combine two of the same Level 2 cards in order to be used. This ability is also known as the ultimate ability.
Lastly, some heroes are able to use additional spells outside of their main four abilities. Spells can differ based on the heroes and don’t require any cards to be used in order to be cast.
However, they do require the player to spend mana crystals. It is also worth noting that casting spells doesn’t count as your turn which means that you will also be able to attack or use one of your abilities even if u cast a spell.
This means that you will need to plan around combining cards, using them, and managing your mana, making each of your turns more exciting, and every single decision bears a lot more weight and has a bigger impact on the outcome of the battle.
Leveling
As in any respectable RPG, leveling plays a huge role when it comes to growing the power of your heroes. However, instead of gaining experience and leveling up through battle, your heroes level up by consuming various currencies.
In order to level up your heroes, you will need to either spend silver and hero EXP potions or use one of the level tickets. Leveling up your hero will increase their basic attributes such as health points, attack, defense, speed, etc.
Equipment
Equipment is another factor that determines the power of your heroes. As you fight one battle after another, you will come across various items and gear that you will be able to pick up and use.
Weapons, armor, gloves, shoes, and various accessories can be equipped by your heroes and used to further increase their power and their stats. Some items can even grant your heroes unique effects.
Arcane Saga – Quests
