Hello, I'm an experience 7-12 English educator and I love teaching reading and writing. I've always had a love for the written word. I was the kid who would pretend to go to bed, but would actually be under the covers reading a book by flashlight. Hello, I'm an experience 7-12 English educator and I love teaching reading and writing. I've always had a love for the written word. I was the kid who would pretend to go to bed, but would actually be under the covers reading a book by flashlight. Now, my job is to spark and/or maintain a respect for reading that is often lost by the time students get to the upper grades.
I graduated magna cum laude in 2013 from Pace University, Pleasantville with my bachelor's as a dual major in English and Adolescent Education and received my Master's in English Education from City College of NY in 2019. As a student at Pace, I worked as a Writing Consultant in the Writing Center for three years. As a Writing Consultant, I helped fellow college students with papers on all subjects and in both MLA and APA styles. Undergraduates and graduate students could be at any stage of the writing process and would be welcomed and leave feel more confident about the paper they'd been working on.
I have eight years of teaching experience in 10th and 8th grade and over 10 years of online tutoring experience. I enjoy working with students to clarify their ideas and gain confidence in their writing ability. I believe that everyone has a voice and something to say and having strong writing skills enables you to always have a way to express your beliefs. Though mainly a writing tutor, I am happy to help with anything English related, including reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, it literature.
I am mainly available to tutor online. Wyzant has an amazing online platform with video, audio, whiteboard, and text editing features that makes it super easy and convenient to get help from the comfort of home or the dorms.
