How are Ossaa rankings determined? ›

The OSAA ranking system is a combination of measurements of a team's strength of schedule, how well a team does against that schedule, and the impacts of the team's opponents in addition to the team's overall performance in a season.

Colley's method of ranking, which was used in the BCS rankings prior to the change in the system, is a modification of the simplest method of ranking, the winning percentage. Colley's method gives us a rating for each team, which we can use to find a ranking for the teams.

The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking is determined using the Elo Model. This method adds or subtracts points for matches to or from a team's existing point total. The points which are added or subtracted are partially determined by: relative team strength.

Sports ratings systems use a variety of methods for rating teams, but the most prevalent method is called a power rating. The power rating of a team is a calculation of the team's strength relative to other teams in the same league or division.

We rely on personal observation, scouting reports, input from coaches and input from other scouts, trying to make the rankings as accurate as possible. The rankings are regularly adjusted as we receive new information. Do I have to attend a Perfect Game event in order to be ranked?

In the National Football League (NFL), the highest official passer rating that a player can achieve is 158.3, which is called a "perfect passer rating".

The Colley Matrix Method

The method is based on very simple statistical principles, and uses only wins and losses as input—margin of victory does not matter. The scheme adjusts effectively for strength of schedule, in a way that is free of bias toward conference, tradition, or region.

Players are ranked based on potential and current level. Our scouts value players with high soccer IQ, competitive drive, and willingness to learn/improve. We strive to find players at every level but our highest ranked players are the players making an impact at the top club levels in the country.

Ranking points are awarded to teams placing as winners, finalists and so on. The size of the flight will determine how many teams get placed. 8-15+ teams = Champions, Finalists & Semi-Finalists. Quarter-Finalist points are awarded only if event is a GotSoccer Event.
